What made me perm my hair after being natural for 2 years?
When dealing with natural hair, it is easy to get frustrated. I remember being at my sisters' house while she was perming her hair on a Saturday. She has a tapered haircut, which she feels requires her to get relaxers regularly. On that particular Saturday my hair was shedding and super dry. This ended up being the moment I became annoyed with my hair.
Natural Hair takes a lot of work and maintenance just like anything else.
If you're natural or thinking about returning natural you need to be dedicated to it.
Why is natural hair so unique?
Natural Hair is unique because it is very versatile. In America, there is no other race with hair like African American people. All hair types and races are beautiful in my opinion, but black women in specific are more likely to be insecure about their natural hair. I believe all women should love their natural beauty. It's nothing wrong with makeup and enhancing our beauty but we still should be true to ourselves.
"Always embrace your natural beauty." God makes no mistakes!
The Question is why?
Honestly there is no explanation to this question "Why?"
African American women should love their hair because it's something God has blessed us with. It never makes sense to me when women say "My hair texture isn't considered good hair." That statement is inaccurate because with proper care and treatment, natural African American hair can be healthy, full of kinks, curls and life.
If you're interested in starting your natural journey do it!
Don't let anyone stop you! It's the best thing I've done!

The reason why I dye my hair?
I dye my natural hair to see how much it actually grows. When natural hair is dyed from the ends, leaving the roots fully natural it is easier to recognize new hair growth.
Dying Hair Tips:
Always keep your hair moisturized.
When natural hair is dyed it gets brittle and super dry. It is highly important to keep hair moisture or not doing so will cause hair breakage and damage. Use oils and add water to your hair daily.

My name is Patrice. I'm a young African American woman who inspires other women who look like me to embrace their natural hair. A few interesting things about me are, I attended a Historically Black College which was the best thing I could have ever done. The love was AMAZING! I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation and Leisure Studies. I also completed my Therapeutic Recreation certificate program with the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee College of Health Sciences. While attending my HBCU, I was able to participate in a few fun, great activities as well as meet other brothers and sisters.

Currently, I'm a Mental Health Analyst and I enjoy working with the Mental Health population as well as the geriatric setting for elderly patients PRN. It gets even better!
I've developed a passion for healthcare and als0 work with children involving behavioral health plus therapeutic recreation. It's very rewarding!
Mental Health is something many people don't talk about but it is highly important.
I work with all ages of children in the community involving different activities.
Throughout my whole undergraduate experience, I worked in childcare and never stopped.
